一个挑战（二）

"Look out!" John yelled. As if on cue, I heard a strange sound. I turned my head just in time to see the tree branch snap! As I fell, I let out a high-pitched scream. When my head hit the ground, I felt pain shoot through my head like lightning. Blood oozed out of my head and drenched my T-shirt. The last thing I remembered was the ambulance arriving and the paramedics putting me on a stretcher before I blacked out.

When I regained consciousness, I found that I was in a hospital bed. Thank goodness, I am alive! I moved my hand over my head and found that it was covered with bandages. My parents must have seen I had woken up as they rushed over to me. They heaved a sigh of relief. However, almost immediately, they gave me a severe tongue-lashing for making them worried. I hung my head low and apologized to them. They forgave me but told me never to do such things again.
